Privacy Policy

ShareShield helps you avoid accidentally sharing sensitive information while keeping your content on your device.

In short: ShareShield scans locally in your browser. It does not collect or upload the text it scans.

What ShareShield processes

ShareShield may process pasted text, text in submitted forms, and text you explicitly select to scan. It can use the current domain to apply your local website rules. Password fields are not read.

What is stored locally

ShareShield stores preferences, website rules, custom detection rules, hashes of permitted non-secret values, and anonymous local counters. Optional activity history stores only time, domain, categories, risk level, and selected action for at most 30 days.

What is not collected

ShareShield does not collect or transmit pasted text, form content, API keys, tokens, passwords, private keys, payment details, detection results, browsing history, clipboard history, analytics, cookies, or remote code.

Payments

Optional ShareShield Pro payments use ExtensionPay and Stripe for checkout and paid-access status. ShareShield does not send scanned text, form values, secrets, or detection results to either service.

Managed devices

Organizations can configure which categories ShareShield blocks on managed devices. Those policies do not provide access to scanned text.
