Highlightly is a browser extension for highlighting text, adding notes, organizing saved information, and reopening the original source. This policy explains what information Highlightly stores and how it is handled.

2. Local browser data

Highlightly stores highlights, notes, colors, projects, settings, and related source information locally in your browser. This data is used to provide the extension’s features.

The basic version does not require a Highlightly account. Highlightly does not intentionally send the content of your highlights or notes to the developer’s servers.

3. Website access

To create and display highlights, the extension may read the text and URL of webpages on which you use it. This access is used only to provide highlighting, note, library, and source-reopening functionality.

4. Payments

When you purchase Highlightly Plus, payment and licensing may be handled by third-party services, including ExtensionPay and Stripe. Those providers may process information such as your email address, payment details, transaction status, and license status under their own privacy policies.

Highlightly does not directly receive or store your complete card number.

5. Data sharing

Highlightly does not sell your personal information. Information is shared only when necessary to provide payment or licensing functionality, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, or protect the service.

6. Data retention and removal

Local Highlightly data remains in your browser until you delete it, remove individual highlights or projects, clear the extension’s storage, or uninstall the extension. Payment providers may retain transaction data as required by law and their own policies.

7. Security

Reasonable measures are used to limit unnecessary data collection. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8. Children

Highlightly is not directed at children under the minimum age required by applicable law to independently consent to online services.

9. Changes

This policy may be updated when Highlightly’s features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page will be changed when a revision is published.
