Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Highlightly, you agree to these Terms of Use. Do not use Highlightly if you do not agree with them.
2. The service
Highlightly provides browser-based highlighting, note-taking, organization, search, source reopening, and export functionality. Features may change as the extension is improved.
3. Free and Plus versions
The free version may include usage limits. Highlightly Plus is offered as a one-time purchase with the features shown on the product page at the time of purchase.
A limited free Plus trial may be provided to eligible new installations. Trial availability, duration, and eligibility may be changed where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse or maintain the service.
4. Payments
Payments may be processed through ExtensionPay and Stripe. You must provide accurate billing information and are responsible for any charges you authorize. Taxes may be added where required.
5. License
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Highlightly in accordance with these terms and applicable browser-store rules.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use Highlightly for unlawful activity.
- Attempt to bypass payment, licensing, usage limits, or security controls.
- Reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or copy protected parts of Highlightly except where the law expressly permits it.
- Use Highlightly in a way that harms the extension, its users, payment providers, or browser platforms.
7. Your content and responsibility
You remain responsible for the highlights, notes, projects, and exports you create. You must respect copyright, confidentiality, privacy, and other rights when saving or sharing information.
8. Availability and changes
Highlightly is provided on an “as available” basis. Temporary interruptions, browser changes, website changes, or technical issues may affect functionality. Reasonable efforts may be made to maintain compatibility, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.
9. Disclaimer
Highlightly is a productivity tool and does not provide legal, academic, financial, medical, or professional advice. You are responsible for checking important source material and keeping your own backups where appropriate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business losses resulting from use of or inability to use Highlightly. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Termination
Access may be suspended or terminated if these terms are seriously violated, payment is reversed fraudulently, or use of the extension creates legal or security risks.
